Please see the attachment, I sent out yesterday.
Content pasted in below. Thanks Dan -------------------------------------- WCBA Racing September 29, 2008 2008 Baja 1000 As with everything change is the only constant there is. I have over the past 6 years spent every November totally involved in the Baja 1000 race, either as support with our Old Horse Racing or as with last year, entering our own racer under the WCBA Racing name. With the finish at the Primm Race behind us and getting a finish in the books, I was looking forward to the Baja 1000 this year. It has always been my intention to enter this year’s race, with the short loop, it would be about the easiest 1000 for us. Unfortunately with the current conditions of the economy and the burden this race puts on our team sponsors, members, and friends from a time and cost standpoint. I cannot in good judgment go forward with this race this year. I have spoken with everyone, and though they are all willing to try it. I feel that for most, it is about not letting me down, rather than wanting to tell me the actual hardship it will put them in. I would rather miss this race and put everyone, as well as myself, in a better position for future races. We will continue with our prep as scheduled, as if we were going to race the 1000. By doing this, we will have the racer ready and available for the next race on our schedule. Once again I want to thank all of you for your help and the effort you bring to the program. We will continue to race and welcome your support at future events. I will go ahead and continue to work with all of the other Class 3 racers that will be racing this year, if they would like the help. I still have the time to work with the logistics, maps, and printing of the finalized race plan, and books if needed. As for my equipment and its availability to go to Baja, that will have to be discussed as time grows nearer. I need to take a better look at all of this, within the context of the decision I have just made. Thanks Dan Wright |

Darn shame Dan, but fully understand. For the cost of one Baja Mil, you can run a number of local races. Jump in your truck and come chase anyway.
If you don't make it down, hope to hook up with you for a Vorra race soon. |
