My buddy and I (I had to quit calling him my partner because people were gettin' the wrong idea!:) )have been tossing around ideas about a breather for the racer. Both he and I have a lot of experience with large farm equipment (don't laugh) -- here in Texas it gets real, real hot 'n dusty, especially when we're out cutting hay. Anyway, our tractors suck dust/debris all day long and never cough. We have thought about modifying one of those breather systems to use on our EB..sounds stupid, but the concept makes sense. However, I'm not into re-inventing the wheel. I don't want a big massive filter sticking out of my hood -- would much prefer a set-up like Big Oly with the inside filter. Does anyone have an idea or seen a breather that would work well in the conditions of baja, but be "hood friendly"?

www.uniquemetelproducts.com It is what I run as does a lot of the racers. Have a look, if you like I will send some pictures of mine. I think there are some pictures here already from last year. The first year we had to change the air filter 3 times in the 440 miles we went. Last year with the UMP we didn't change it at all, I may run it again this year. Also, we put it inside this last year.

I'm curious to see what your farm implement breather looks like and how it functions.
In general, I agree with Chuck. The breather we used last year was great. One less spare to carry (or several), one less thing to do in order to pit.

PERFECT! That's EXACTLY what I'm looking for! I went back and found the pics on this site..I must have looked at those 100 times and didn't notice that breather until now. Why do you guys in CA get all the cool stuff? :D
Jack - I've got to go to D.C. this weekend, so I won't make it out to the farm -- but I will next weekend and will snap some pics of the tractor breather..sort of looks like the one on Chuck's racer! :D

The breather from UMP showed up today -- this thing looks just like a bling'ed up version of the tractor breather! nice.....very, very nice...
